This is one of the bushes that got hit badly with the storm. It was completely flat against the ground. Happy it came back to life and with such flaming color!
The Japanese maple right next to it wasn’t so lucky; half of it split open, but since it was still attached we decided to do some surgery and tied the two halves with a rope. We will have to wait until next year to see if it comes back to life.
I needed a simple elegant dress for a gala event. I wanted something comfortable but right for the occasion. This is what I came up with; I am very happy with the result.

It looked beautiful when it started to snow; we figured it wouldn’t be much, but..
we weren’t that lucky. We got a lot, 8-10 inches approximately.

So instead of watching the leaves fall, we spent the weekend burning wood to keep ourselves warm and hearing the trees fall down. At least we were very lucky no trees fell on our house. There is a lot to clean up and a piece of our driveway to fix, but we are all alright. To see more photos click storm.
